MEAN VALUE INTERPOLATION ON SPHERES
In this paper we consider multivariate Lagrange mean-value interpolation problem, where interpolation parameters are integrals over spheres. We have concentric spheres. Indeed, we consider the problem in three variables when it is not correct.
متن کاملOn Error Formulas for Multivariate Polynomial Interpolation
In this paper we prove that the existence of an error formula of a form suggested in [2] leads to some very specific restrictions on an ideal basis that can be used in such formulas. As an application, we provide a negative answer to one version of the question posed by Carl de Boor (cf. [2]) regarding the existence of certain minimal error formulas for multivariate interpolation. §
متن کاملA Generalization of the Remainder in Multivariate Polynomial Interpolation
The aim of this article is to introduce a generalization of the interpolation remainder in multivariate interpolation and to study it, in least interpolation schemes and in minimal interpolation ones. This generalization, we named λ-remainder, allows us a deeper analysis of the error in the interpolation process. Connected to the λ remainder, we introduced the notion of λ error order of interpo...
متن کاملThe Error in Polynomial Tensor-Product, and Chung-Yao, Interpolation
A formula for the error in Chung-Yao interpolation announced earlier is proved (by induction). In the process, a bivariate divided difference identity of independent interest is proved. Also, an inductive proof of an error formula for polynomial interpolation by tensorproducts is given. The main tool is a (convenient notation for a) multivariate divided difference. In [2], a particular multivar...
متن کاملA Multivariate Divided
A multivariate kth divided diierence is proposed and shown to lead to new error formull for polynomial interpolation on some standard multivariate point sets. x1. Introduction In trying to understand what might be a reasonable way to describe the error in interpolation by polynomials on l R d , I came upon the following considerations: The standard error formula g(x) = g(a) + Z 1 0 D x?a g(a + ...
